Technical director of a travel agency is the most qualified profession within the structure. In many cases he is the same holder of an operating license, in others the owner delegates the direction of the Technical Director who works under him/her. It is a role required  by law, without which no travel agent or tour operator may carry on business.
The role of technical director belongs to the category of "Travel Agents". His/Her  particular expertise, combined with the requirement to obtain one rating with specific characteristics, making it one of the most coveted in the industry and, as confirmed by the polls, with more job opportunites.

Tasks

The tasks of the Technical Director of travel agency might  vary depending on the size of the structure. In large agencies, for example, the Technical Director Master in Tourist Managementperforms only the functions of a manager: planning, design, decide, details. In many cases, however, especially when the Director is not the owner of the agency, but an employee may also perform duties as executive and deal directly with the promotion and sale of services. In smaller agencies, then, the Technical Director, in addition to fulfill its role of manager, carries out practical tasks and front office. A versatile figure, then, around which rotates the entire agency and from which depend the success and development of the structure and can enjoy a high degree of autonomy.   • Develop business strategies and financial policies, management and marketing
  • defines the business objectives and plan the services offered by the structure
  • manages and promotes the sale of services

Competences

The technical director of travel agency must have, along with a solid training both basic and specific qualities, which emphasises his position and make it essential - not only for legal purposes - for any structure: it must have initiative, decision power. He will be constantly in touch with his staff, motivate them, manage them. Managers need to know to perfection the work organization.

Professional qualification

The technical director of travel agency in order to practice his role, must have a high school diploma and, after  Up level Master in Tourist Management, he will achieve certification through an examination organized by region or province. The exam consists of a written test and an oral test, to determine the skills in administration and organization of travel agents, technolog knowledge, law and geography of tourism and the knowledge of two foreign languages. In addition to training at the highest levels, we will provide  the information and technical and bureaucratic for the this test. The Up Level Master in Tourist Management can be attended also by those who will not intend to attend the qualification test. Some of our students, in fact, wish to acquire the skills of a Technical Director to improve their skills and grow on the job, without necessarily obtaining the legal qualification.

The career

The continuous expansion and evolution of the international tourism market offers a technical director of travel agency ample employment opportunities. He, of course, is obliged to lend his professional work as an employee at one agency, and usually works with a permanent contract.

As for career opportunities, keep in mind that the Technical Director in fact enter the top staffing agency. Can not therefore have a career, but simply because it is impossible to go over the top! However, his income can vary widely, depending on the agency for which he works. Good training, along with solid experience in the field, enabling him to aspire to the direction of increasingly large and prestigious structures, or to go it alone and open her own agency.
